The activity was part of Planet Smilez, a week of hands-on summer activities organized at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and aimed at introducing middle school youths to the oral health professions.

After 14 years, Richard Barth, PhD, MSW, is stepping down as dean of the University of Maryland School of Social Work at the end of the 2019-2020 academic year and will transition into a faculty position. To honor his impact on the social work profession, lead donors and Dean Barth and his brothers have created the Richard P. Barth Professorship in Children’s Services Research.
In 2019, the University of Maryland School of Nursing celebrated 130 years of impact on nursing education and its continued leadership in the state and around the world.
